Diversity of mitochondrial DNA lineages in South Siberia.
To investigate the origin and evolution of aboriginal populations of South Siberia, a comprehensive mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) analysis (HVR1 sequencing combined with RFLP typing) of 480 individuals, representing seven Altaic-speaking populations (Altaians, Khakassians, Buryats, Sojots, Tuvinians, Todjins and Tofalars), was performed. Additionally, HVR2 sequence information was obtained for 110 ...

ITE JOURNAL / JANUARY 2003 INTRODUCTION Approaches to combat urban traffic congestion span from demand management to physical expansion of road capacity. Attempts to shift a part of peak travel from car to high-quality public transit and to times when roads are relatively less crowded sometimes have been successful.1,2 Also, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) have the promise to optimize ...
متن کاملCYTOTAXONOMIC STUDIES IN WEST HIMALAYAN BRYACEAE (MUSCI)
The meiotic chromosomes of 10 species (Pohlia elongata, Anomobryum cymbifolium, Brachymenium acuminatum, B. ochianum, B. sikkimense, Bryum cellulare, B. pseudotriquetrum, B. apiculatum, B. capillare and B. atrovirense), in four genera of the family Bryaceae of acrocarpous mosses are studied with special emphasis on their evolution, polyploidy and cytological features with reference to interrela...
متن کاملBrändén’s Conjectures on the Boros-Moll Polynomials
We prove two conjectures of Brändén on the real-rootedness of the polynomials Qn(x) and Rn(x) which are related to the Boros-Moll polynomials Pn(x). In fact, we show that both Qn(x) and Rn(x) form Sturm sequences. The first conjecture implies the 2-log-concavity of Pn(x), and the second conjecture implies the 3-log-concavity of Pn(x). متن کاملAllelic and haplotypic frequencies at 11 Y-STR loci in Buryats from South-East Siberia.
We have obtained Y-STR haplotypes in 12 loci (DYS19, DYS385, DYS389I, DYS389II, DYS390, DYS391, DYS392, DYS393, DYS437, DYS438 and DYS439) from 215 Buryat males. We have found that one haplotype (15-11,18-13-28-23-10-11-14-14-10-12) comprises more than 30% of Y chromosomes in this population while another haplotype (14-11,13-14-30-23-10-14-14-14-10-10) comprises additional 14% of chromosomes. T...
